From today’s NYT: Bob Dylan typing in a room above the Cafe Espresso in Woodstock NY. PHOTO: Douglas Gilbert. Typewriters figured heavily in Dylan’s work; songs had to be typed out for copyright filings, Bob’s notes showed he often refined even “final” typed copies. What machine is BD using here, I wonder?
Royal Safari or Sabre, or Imperial equivalent, most likely.
I would guess – Royal Safari 🙂
…and here it is: http://oztypewriter.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/how-many-typewriters-will-it-take-till.html
🙂
All I can think of are things it’s not. Does the curve suggest SCM? Royal?
And with Robert Messenger’s comprehensive Dylantypewriterology (Thanks, Piotr!), we can agree that Bob’s on a Royal Safari. Going to put a Dylan platter on the table now.
