The Guardian reports that “The Other Typist” will become a movie. Keira Knightley has signed on.
Unclear if Knightley will play the protagonist/narrator Rose, or the new typist, Odalie, who shakes up the squad room with her Jazz-Age morals and mysterious past. Will Mavis Beacon appear in the credits? Will they get the machines correct? Will they use a hand double for the typing scenes? (Hey, Matt, break out the nail polish!)

Wow. It’s quite a coup for a first-time novelist to have her story filmed!
And of course this is good news for those of us who will be looking at the typewriters no less than at Keira Knightley.
